KCSN Named Best Americana Radio Station by LA Magazine::
Looks like our new format has captured the attention – and hearts -- of Americana music lovers across the Southland. In its 2010 “Best of LA” issue, Los Angeles Magazine has named KCSN “Best Americana Radio Station.” According to the magazine, KCSN’s triple A format is filling an unmet demand in Los Angeles for our unique mixture of rock, pop, alternative and country. “Classic Springsteen, Leonard Cohen and Johnny Cash, followed by new Jakob Dylan and Norah Jones without commercials? There’s nowhere else on the dial you’re going to hear that” reads the magazine. We couldn’t agree more.
Listener-supported KCSN is here to fill a gap on the LA radio dial, where a lot of good music has been missing for a long time. We play songs by artists who pay attention to the craftsmanship of their music. We play music by contemporary artists such as Norah Jones, The Dave Matthews Band and John Mayer. We play music by classic artists such as Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan and The Grateful Dead. And we play more than their hits. At KCSN, we play the music you want.
On weekdays, we offer a music mix designed to make your commute and your workday more enjoyable. Our weekend shows, hosted by KCSN volunteers, focus on specific music styles such as Americana, Folk, and Bluegrass. If you’re looking for our classical music service, you can now hear it on KCSN HD-2 and through our sister site KCSNClassical.org
KCSN is a work in progress. We’d love your feedback. You can also suggest a song for our playlist.
